Downtown Festival of Lights
AL
The festival of lights is how the city of Baton Rouge welcomes in the Christmas season. North Boulevard is all dressed up in Christmas lights and there are various activities taking place. Singing of Christmas songs, art displays, a fireworks show, a parade and presentations from various city officials.
With the flip of a switch at, the Mayor will light the city’s 30-foot Christmas Tree with an explosion of fireworks to follow. North Boulevard will be magically transformed into a wonderland of a half million tiny white lights overlooking festival tents with artists, children’s crafts, Bethlehem Village, and a Live Nativity. Musical offerings range from Big Band music to a concert-style Christmas operetta. Just look for the 30-foot Christmas tree, where Third Street meets North Boulevard, and join us for a memorable evening downtown at the North Boulevard Festival of Lights, Baton Rouge’s oldest Christmas tradition.
