Switching from formula to solid food

I'm getting ready to start weaning my 12 month old off of formula. Any ideas of what I should be feeding my daughter to make sure she will get the same vitamins and minerals the formula gives her?

I gave my son vitamin drops in his sippy cup every morning. I used Gerber vitamin drops. I am about to take my daughter off formula when she turns one and I will do the same with her.

I like the idea of serving the formulas for 12-8 monthers. Especially the Nestle formulas with the active cultures. Keep his/ or her diet "colorful" at least 2 servings of meat /protein and buy a variety of fruits and vegetables in different colors , and serve a few different colors every day ! Vitamins are not necessary unless the child shows a defficiency , and can actually be harmful. You can OD on vitamins Surprised smiley
I also like to buy organic when I can , Gerber has a nice Organic selection and I mix that up with their DHA fortefied foods. If she is 12 months and hasn't had food before start at the stage 2 ( the only difference between 1 and 2 is the size) . Let her get used to the texture of food. Start off also with single ingredient food in case there is an allergy. Only introduce 1 food for three days then intro another.
Start with green veggies, than yellow, than white lastly intro the fruits.

Good Luck and get ready for some Kodak moments !
