I just want to alert everyone that most flu vaccines STILL contain 25 mcgs of mercury/dose(or more if the multi-dose vial is not shaken properly by the nurse), unless your doctor happens to carry a thimerosal-free brand or you are somehow able to special order a thimerosal-free vaccine. This year there are only two brands (out of 7) that do not contain any of the preservative thimerosal (which is 50% mercury by weight). They are the "single-dose-vial" Afluria, and the "No-preservative" Fluzone. See http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/thi-tab... (Note: Afluria and Fluzone also have a thimerosal version so you have to be careful even if you know the brand.)

Please consider carefully the pros and cons of this vaccine, or plan ahead to get a thimerosal-free version of this vaccine if you are going to get it for your child or yourself. The flu shot usually also contains aluminum so this is important to check out too.
