Any suggestions for traveling w/a 2 yo?
We're getting ready to leave for what should be a 10 hour road trip. Any ideas for what we can do to keep a 2 yo boy entertained?

We took a three day road trip back in the winter with our 2.5 year old. She actually did really well. We bought a portable DVD player (used) which really helped, but she kept busy with lots of other stuff too. Ideas: magnetic play sets, books, drawing board, and lots of snacks!

PermalinkWe use a lot of little felt activity books in the car, and story and song CDs. Also have some 'new' stuff - even dollar store stuff - that is hidden in a bag to pull out every so often, so it's like a surprise. We also just sit and sing songs, I'd ride in the back with the kids if I had to. We drove from CA to Utah last summer with my then-2 year old and used a lot of the felt books and CDs, they did the trick most of the time. Having snacks and drinks helps too!! Good luck!
