Bad Report Card And Bad State Wide Test Grade
Hi,
I know this might be the wrong spot for me to post but i am a student that just got a very bad report card at the end of the school year. I am in eighth grade going on 9th grade, got in a VERY good high school but slacked ALOT after that. The day i got my report card i lied to my mom and told her i didnt get one because i didnt turn in my textbooks, which she believed for a while. But then she took me to school and threatened to ask the school so i had to tell the truth. Turns out i got a 79.0 on my report card and two 3s on my state wide tests. As you all know asian parents are VERY picky and must you get double 4s and at least 95s. So now shes making me go to summer school, plus 10 pages of test prep everyday, taking away my computer, my rc helicopter, and practically everything that i am interested in.
I do not know what to do now. I already realized that i slacked off alot and that i shouldve been able to done better but now its already too late. Please can anyone help me out here and give me some advice.
Thanks,
Johnny

Johnny,
I know it's hard to see the bright side of things when you are in the middle of punishment. Punishment doesn't just come from parents though, it's a real part of life. There are consequences to every action we take. Slacking off is a very easy thing to do and all to prevalent in today's society. It takes discipline to not slack off and doing ten pages of test prep a day is reinforcement for developing that discipline. Be glad that your mom loves you enough to try and create that character in you. There are too many people doing jobs they hate today, because they didn't develope that discipline when they were young and in school.
Respectfully,
Mom of six grown kids.
