Changing baby's formula

My one month old is very gassy and spits up quite often. She is uncomfortable most of the time and is getting to the point she doesn't want me to put her down. I have heard of people changing formula for these same reasons and having success, but my pediatrician doesn't think it's necessary. What should I do? What formula is gentle on baby's tummy? I am currently using Similac.

I had the same problem with my youngest son, he was also on similac.

He had acid reflux and was spitting a lot and had tummy pain, I changed him to similac lactose free (the orange label) and it made a big difference.  Before that I tried soy but he got very constipated so the doctor told me to use milk based without lactose.

I hope this helps you and I wish you the best of luckSmiley

hang in there!

You should try a gentle ease formula . I tried every thing Fir mine we used Nestles it was very easy on her tummy and a great price was bad either. Good Luck..

A little Mylicon did the trick for us before each bottle, then we weened her off it. Now shes fine. I heard enfamil was rough on their tummies so we went with similac.

My son started with Similac after I breastfeed and he was having bowel movements with blood in it. My ped. told me to continue using it and watch carefully for a week. I did and it continued! SO I switched him to Nestle Good Start. They claim that it's easier to digest. Since I switched formulas he has had no problems!
My friend also had problems with her baby (gas and reflux) on Similac I told her to switch to Good Start and now her baby is much happier!
Cut the label off and read the back side for directions to wean them to a different formula.
Good luck Smiley
