I jutst moved my 5 week old from the bassinet to his crib, and he's been doing great!! When he was in his bassinet, I had one of those womb sounds bears, and had him tucked in a certain way.  When I moved him to his crib, I also moved the bear, and made sure to tuck him in the same way.  I think this helped to make him feel more comfortable, so it wasn't suck a shock, especially becuase the crib is so much bigger!!  If your child has a speical toy/blanket/etc, maybe let him take it to bed, as a comfort.

I have a 6 month old and a month ago my husband and I deiced to put him in his crib in his bedroom. Yeah, it will be hard the first couple of nights. It will take a couple of nights for your baby to get used to the new bed and he will cry. The first night my baby cried for about 8 minutes and the second night  only a couple of minutes. Just get your baby in a routine. and it Will get easier.

I have a 6 month old who moved to her crib at 3 months. We
started her on her naps during the day for a week. When we moved
her for night, we were up the whole night listening for her, but she
slept straight through. Good luck!
