Sleeping in crib

My son, 16 weeks old, will only sleep for long periods of time on pillows. Now, I know this is no-no, but he is a big baby (19 lbs), very strong, and is not rolling over yet, but it could be any day now. We have not gotten to the point where we feel comfortable letting him cry anything out yet, so until then what should I do? Can I continue to let him sleep on pillows and then just let him cry it out without them in a couple weeks when he is 4 months old...the time we believe it to be okay to let him cry some thigns out? He is spoiled about sleeping where it is soft isn't he...

Believe it or not, we actually let our younger one sleep on a pillow for a long time- in fact, I think he was almost 1 before we did away with it! I know it's a no- no these days, but he seemed to really like the softness and we never had any issues with him turning over.

As long as your baby isn't turning over, he's probably OK. He'd pretty much have to get himself on his tummy to do any damage, and even at that point, he'd most likely turn his head. But there are strong warnings against this, I just wanted to let you know that someone else out there has done it, so don't feel too bad.

By the way, we had our kids cry it out (even with the pillow) when they were about 12 months old, but that's just personal preference, the parents need to figure out what works best for them and their babies!

Hope that helps!
